The shop

A house full of gowns, and a room that’s all yours.

The shop is an old house on East Pearl Street, and it still works like one. The gowns hang in the front rooms, the mahogany staircase is where the prom photos get taken, and every fitting room is a real room with a door.

Ask around Torrington and the same name comes up: Mary. She listens to what you describe, pulls what matches it, and pins it herself. The sale is not the end of the job here. The fittings are.

The staircase is waiting.

Prom dresses arrive after the holidays and homecoming in late summer. Call early, bring the date, the school and your number, and leave with a dress that is altered here before the dance.

How it works

Three steps, no rush.

    Call to book

    Call (860) 489-4774, tell us the occasion and the date, and we set a time that works for you and the people you want there.

  2. 02

    A room of your own

    Gowns come to you a few at a time in a private fitting room with a door, chairs for your people and a three-way mirror.

  3. 03

    Fitted in the house

    Alterations happen right here. You try it on again, shoes and all, before it goes home with you.

Chosen with the dress on.

Veils, headpieces, jewelry and shoes, tried in the same mirror as the gown, so nothing has to be guessed at home.
